PROJECT INFORMATION
When I learned that someone I knew was suffering from Aphantasia, I asked him how his mind represented events. He answered that it was like a document. I found this incredible and began to explore the world of the mind of people with Aphantasia.
I made a project on Aphntasia theme. I first connected the text-to-image generator from Open AI to TouchDesigner, and then linked the image to an effect that makes the image dissolve like gouache, simulating the experience of people with heart blindness being unable to form images in their minds, or forming very blurry images. Then I designed a website demo for the public to participate in this function.

People with Aphantasia imagine through words, and the images in their minds are blurry or even completely absent.
- Concerned about the group with Aphantasia: for the emotional problem of recalling events (the results are not very different, but confidence is significantly reduced)
CONCEPT
I want the audience to experience through the textual description of the scenarios the characteristics of the mind-blind person who processes information in the brain with words, and through the process of generating pictures with a special blurring effect from the words the audience can experience how people with different degrees of mind-blindness imagine the pictures to look like.
Through the gouache-like blurring effect, it allows people to feel the unique emotion of remembering or imagining images that are missing due to mind blindness.
